Manufacturing Methods Engineer

Quandela is a global leader in quantum computing, designing, building, and delivering cutting-edge quantum solutions for research and industry. Its offerings include the most energy-efficient quantum computers for data centers, full-stack quantum computing solutions accessible via the cloud, and algorithm access services for academic and industrial customers. Following a pragmatic, step-by-step roadmap, Quandela has been deploying industrial-grade systems since 2023 while developing future generations of fault-tolerant quantum computers capable of scaling through the integration of thousands of photonic components. Quandela is committed to making quantum computing accessible to all in order to address the most complex industrial and societal challenges. Join Us at the Forefront of Quantum Computing Innovation 🚀 At Quandela, we're scaling up the manufacturing of our semiconductor and photonic products, moving from low-volume technical production toward structured, scalable manufacturing. We're looking for a hands-on engineer who enjoys working close to production. At the interface between Process Engineering and Production, you'll turn qualified processes into simple, robust and practical production standards, making manufacturing easier to execute, easier to control, more repeatable and more efficient. Your Key Responsibilities • Translate qualified processes into clear, executable production methods and define the optimal sequence of manufacturing operations • Create and maintain manufacturing routings, Work Instructions, SOPs, checklists, inspection points and standard times, ensuring they reflect the approved process • Define the resources required for each operation (equipment, tooling, materials, operator skills, inspection) and ensure consistency between BOM, routings, instructions and production data • Support the setup and maintenance of manufacturing master data in ERP/MES systems • Validate methods directly on the shop floor with operators, collect their feedback and integrate improvements into standards • Train operators on new or modified methods and deploy standardized work and visual standards • Analyze production flows to reduce non-value-added activities, waiting time, handling, excessive WIP and rework, and improve workstation organization, ergonomics and layout • Measure and analyze machine, operator, setup and inspection times, compare actual vs. standard times, and provide reliable data for capacity planning, costing, workforce planning and investment decisions • Identify, validate and document tooling and support workstation design • Provide hands-on production support, investigate recurring issues related to methods, tooling or documentation, and implement practical corrective actions • Support new product introduction and ramp-up, and manage the production impact of process, product or equipment changes • Drive continuous improvement (5S, VSM, PDCA, 5 Why, root cause analysis) and track KPIs such as cycle time, FPY, scrap, productivity and OEE Requirements • Engineering degree or Master's in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical or Production Engineering, or a related field • Minimum 6 years of experience in manufacturing methods, production engineering or industrial engineering • Proven experience creating Work Instructions, manufacturing routings and standard times • Strong understanding of manufacturing flows and production operations • Analytical, data-driven mindset with strong problem-solving skills • Pragmatic approach and ability to work directly with operators and technical teams • Comfortable in a fast-evolving industrial environment • Fluent French and English Nice to have • Experience in semiconductor, photonics, electronics or high-tech manufacturing, cleanroom or precision assembly • Data tools such as Excel, Power BI or Python Benefits • Competitive salary, flexible based on your experience • Profit-sharing & company savings plan • 100% health coverage (Alan) • 50% transport reimbursement or sustainable mobility bonus • Meal vouchers (Swile), Gymlib fitness support • Childcare assistance & referral bonuses (€1,000–€2,000) What we offer: • A meaningful role with real ownership, from day one • A team eager to collaborate and grow with you • A hybrid work model (3 days/week onsite in Massy, 1 day in Paris, 1 to 2 days remotely) • Daily exposure to the entire quantum stack — from high-level APIs to low-level firmware, and everything in between. Process • Talent Acquisition Interview (45') • Hiring Manager Interview (45') • Use Case (a live use case or one to be prepared at home and presented afterward) • Meeting with the teams • 2 reference check • Offer (This process is provided for guidance only and may evolve depending on the roles) At Quandela, we believe that the strength of our team is the plurality of experiences, perspectives, and journeys. We are committed to building a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming work environment. All applications are welcome. Find more English Speaking Jobs in France on Arbeitnow
